At LCM Offroad we see a rooftop tent as an investment in years of travel. That's why our involvement doesn't stop at the sale. Whether you have no space to store it, need a hand fitting it, or want to test whether rooftop-tent life suits you: we're here.

1. Rooftop tent winter storage & maintenance (the "hotel" service)

No room at home for your rooftop tent over winter? Treat it to our hotel service. We store your tent safely, dry and dust-free, and give it a full check-up while it's with us.

• What we do: We clean the hardshell, check the hinges and gas struts, and make sure the tent goes into storage bone dry. Come spring you drive straight off again with a tent in top condition.

2. Professional fitting & removal

A hardshell rooftop tent easily weighs between 60 and 80 kg. That's not a one-person job. Save yourself the lifting and the favour-asking.

• Our service: Drop by our workshop and we'll do the heavy work. Using professional hoists we fit or remove the tent from your roof bars safely and quickly, so everything is rock solid before your next trip.

• Free fitting help on collection: Buying a rooftop tent from us and collecting it yourself? We'll help fit it to your car there and then. As an extra, we fit the tent with stronger, better-quality bolts than the ones supplied as standard, so everything stays put on rough terrain too.

• Note — roof bars are down to you: Roof bars aren't included with the tent; they have to match your exact make and model. Make sure suitable roof bars are fitted before you come and collect the tent. Not sure which ones work? Call or email us – we're happy to advise.

3. Try before you buy

Still not sure a rooftop tent is for you? Use our trade-in arrangement.

• How it works: Rent an LCM Dune for your next trip. Like it enough to buy your own tent from us? We'll take a substantial part of the rental fee straight off the purchase price, so your test run is virtually free.

4. Personal advice & a proper lie-down

You don't buy a rooftop tent off a picture. You want to feel the fabric, test the mattress and see how easily it opens.

• Book a visit: Come by for a personal demo. We set the tent up together and you can take your time trying it out. That way you get honest advice on which accessories – an anti-condensation mat, a camping set – actually add something to your trips.
